The Maverick DAO is for people who aspire to 'Put a ding in the Universe'

The things we do in this life literally echo an eternity. No matter how small, your actions have impact, and if you really swing, you too can leave a ding.

The world is in dire need of Mavericks, crusaders, who want to make this world a better place for people that need help today, for our future generations, for all life forms...

And these mavericks and crusaders need to find a place where thy can collaborate, feel valued and have their efforts recognized. The Maverick DAO aspires to be that place.

When chasing long term goals, it can become extremely challenging to keep the teams engaged and motivations high.

Recognizing and rewarding your crusaders is key to help us collectively reach those goals.

These Mavericks form swarms that come together for a common cause.

The Mavericks DAO aims to be that umbrella DAO that houses these swarms, and provides them with all the necessary support guidance and tools to help them.... Put a ding in the Universe.

Why the name?

Unlike popular belief that the name Maverick comes from the famous movie Top Gun, it is actually inspired from a famous book from Ricardo Semler by the same name

We believe this was one of the earliest works documented on autonomous organisations and we keep going back to it for inspiration and guidance.

Inclusivity

If being a Maverick sounds 'masculine' and not very inclusive, it may be due to stereotyping in popular 1980s movies or a popular NBA club.

We believe Mavericks come in all shape and form and gender identity.

Inclusivity is extremely important to us.

We as members, contributors, and leaders pledge to make participation in our community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.

We pledge to act and interact in ways that contribute to an open, welcoming, diverse, inclusive, and healthy community.

Hows does it work?

Mavericks on the Maverick DAO form swarms.

A swarm is a group of people coming together with a common purpose. eg: Clean the oceans or saving the Amur Leopard

Each swarm defines their charter. A charter at the minimum consists of:

• Mission and Vision.
• Board list of activities and how it helps the bigger cause.
• A rewards and incentives model clearly detailing how community contributors will be rewarded.

The community members continue working towards their swarm's key activities and while they continue to work towards the bigger goal, they receive rewards in the form on MAVE tokens.

Every swarm has a treasury bot that reads the swarm's charter and more importantly the rewards and incentive model of their charter.

Every week the treasury bot will distribute the MAVE tokens to the community contributors based on the contributions they've made as per the community guidelines and charter.

Community members accumulate MAVE tokens for their contributions. Eventually they will be able to swap MAVEs for another token (when MAVE gets listed) or swap MAVE for merchandise from the Community driven DAO store.

Getting Started

There are two minimum and mandatory steps needed to getting started on the Maverick DAO.

2. Set up your wallet. Follow the instructions here

The next steps would be to browse through the different swarms and their vision and missions, and if there is a swarm that aligns with yours you can request joining the swarm. Once in a swarm, go do your thing... put a ding in the universe.

In case you are setting up a new swarm, you can request for an airdrop, to get your swarm started.

Wallet Setup

Follow these instructions to setup your wallet for the Maverick DAO.

1. Sign-up and create your Metamask wallet https://metamask.io/

2. Add The polygon Network by visiting Chainlink.org, scroll to the tile that says "Polygon Mainnet" and click on the connect wallet button.

3. Once done go to the Metamask extension and from the top dropdown where it says Ethereum Mainnet, select Polygon Mainnet.

4. Click on the Import Token Link and add the following address to start seeing your MAVE tokens. 0xda8cf1901af043d975c5ce8085ab03d0c803c917

Airdrops

We are currently air dropping MAVEs to communities and teams who commit to further distribute MAVEs as per the DAOs guidelines.

To be eligible to receive the MAVE airdrops carry out the following simple steps:

• Join the Maverick DAO discord server.
• Follow @Maverick-DAO on Twitter.
• Fill up the Airdrop Request form.

Airdrops are carried out manually after reviewing the filled in forms. Please be patient.
